Photos of Devon: St. Raphael’s Church, Dartmoor

Close to Dartmeet, in the middle of Dartmoor National Park, you find the little village of Hexworthy. On to outskirts of the village, you find St. Raphael’s Church. The little, unassuming building was first opened as a church in 1869, and also served as the local school for many years, with simple mechanics turning pews into school desks. To this day, there are still reminders of what school back then would have been like in the form of quills, a school master’s cap – and a cane. Here are a few pictures from a recent visit.
