Photos of Japan: Snowy Kyodo at six in the morning in seven photos from a smartphone

Couldn’t resist going for a (very early) morning walk, as heavy snowfall is a bit of a rarity in Tokyo.

Maybe it was the jet-lag, but the streets of Kyodo, where I live, felt a mix of eerily haunted and very peaceful and serene, covered in a blanket of falling snow. Of course, it slowly turned into rain while I was walking, meaning that the trees started to drop large, loose balls of snow on unsuspecting pedestrians, including yours truly.

Here are seven photos from the walk, all taken before my fingers started freezing too much and my phone got too wet to take any more.
